This summer has gone by all too quickly and we’re once again getting ready to transition into a
new season-Autumn. I can’t say that I’m ready to see the leaves fall from the trees, yet the
colors are so beautiful during the fall!
Speaking of transitions, those of you who have known me for a long time know that I’ve been a
fan of Queen Elizabeth my whole life and have been very sad at her passing. She saw so much
change in the last 96 years and kept her calm and great sense of humor, traits that we all could
benefit from. We are seeing huge transitions throughout the world, even in our own lives, and
we need to allow ourselves permission to go through each and every emotion that we feel. We
have forgotten that we are all emotional beings first, cognitive beings second. Albert Einstein
even spoke to that in his later years!
Self Care Suggestion
So it’s time to transition to more changes-daily, seasonal, and more, all transformational, and
life-changing. So what are you doing to take the best care of yourself during this time? Do you
allow yourself to feel joy or laughter each day, even for a few minutes? We’re not supposed to
stay serious 24 hours a day and laughter does move the entire body, which moves oxygen and
energy throughout the body. That moves the blood and fluids within your body also, necessary
for us to feel our best. So please, every day, take even five minutes for some self-healing and
relaxation. We have that much time, whether we realize it or not. I like to practice deep
breathing even when I’m sitting in the car at the red light. It’s relaxing and I tend to react a lot
less to the traffic woes that can be very frustrating. What do you like to do? If you have family
at home, can you involve them as well? Children learn by our examples more than they do our
words, and it’s a great time to teach them to relieve stress with simple activities (including
walks, play, yoga, gardening, etc) so pick something with their participation in the choice
making. And just go have fun with it!
Til we meet again!
Peace,
Catharine
